It is a five-note sequence of tones (90 hz, 120 hz, 180 hz, 240 hz, 360 hz) produced as the train accelerates out of the station. I could not make a recording of the actual jeumont train as the train was scrapped in 2018, which was before i even made my account!.

I used audacity to synthesize the five-tone chime made by the montreal metro's jeumont train element 41. Backstory: the train itself was an mr-63 type train modified by canron circa 1971, adding a current chopper to the train's started system. The chopper produced an 'idle' tone at around 45 hz, and as the train departed, five tones at frequencies of 90, 120, 180, 240, and 360 hz. Originally there were 3 'elements' (a set of 2 motor cars and 1 trailer car) with the jeumont-schneider current chopper (element 40, made up of cars 81-579, 80-040, and 81-580; element 41, made up of cars 81-581, 80-041, and 81-582; and element 42, made up of cars 81-583, 80-042, and 81-584). During the early 2000s refurbishments, element 40 was retired from service to provide spare parts for the other elements, which were then connected with elements of 'normal' mr-63 trains. Only the 81-579 car remains from element 40. Element 41 and element 42 were then retired in 2018 when the other mr-63 trains were retired.

An artistic experiment searching for sound emissions and the limit of human hearing. Composed of infrasonic material that have a lot of harmonic distortion. Humans will be able to identify tones as low as 12hz. From 1000 hz the auditory system decreases. Natural and human produced infrasonic sounds is anywhere, all the time. The artistic idea was to use background noises, signal fidelity, harmonic distortion, low-frequency in order to foster a soundscape of infrasound that travels through space. Made for project that was never released. Think somebody might enjoy or use it.

Interesting (but painful) sounds made with a zoom h2 (front mics, low gain) connected to a laptop via usb. The signal was piped to old creative sbs250 spekers with 16ms of latency (i'm using jack audio connection kit and linux). That's how my feedback loop came into existance. I turned up the volume and started to move the mics around, geting a lot of different sounds ranginf from simple tones to strange lfoish sounds. The sound touches 0db one times, but is rather undistorted (at least digitally). Recorded with audacity @ 48khz/16-bit and saved as flac.

This replica of my tinnitus was created using the free program called audacity. Http://audacityteam. Org/i had to generate 3 different 'tones' and combine them before i felt the high-ish noise was close to what i hear. I then had to search freesound for something that i only hear beneath the high pitch noise when my house is very quiet, which is something like the sound of strong wind outside a closed window or a power station a mile away. So, not being an expert with audacity, i just went down the list of 'effects', trying each one, until i found "paulstretch", which somehow increases the time length of your sound file, without stretching as in 'elastic', which would deepen the existing tones, and apparently, without copying and pasting. The sound does change somewhat, becoming just slightly ragged, but it's a very interesting effect for this application and actually got used on both elements to produce the final sound. . I hope no one enjoys this sound and can't imagine that anyone will. It makes me feel slightly sick. . Info edited 28 oct 2021: with my tinnitus at it's current level, i will never, now, be able to reproduce it again, primarily because i can't hear any sounds i create in a detailed way. And secondly, because hearing this version of the sound these days is just too uncomfortable. 🥲.

This sound is a mix of analog sound and digitally created sound. I recorded the sound of a coffee machine. Then on audacity, i generated a tone and modified its envelope. I changed the levels, added effects as reverberation and echo. I put melted at opening and closing in purpose to pretend something was taking off and landing. At first i wanted to create the atmosphere of a spaceship. But after that it looked more like a vacuum noise. I tried to modify amplification and added again echo and reverberation to make it sound more like a weird ufo. Five is four: a polyrhythmic analog-synth loop with ambiguous five or four time signature. Slightly frantic sounding, arpeggiator-like rising pattern a bit like a shepard tone, it's a 5/4 pattern, but accents are distributed in 4/4. 180 bpm, key is a-minor (a-minor then f-major). Checked-in to a hotel in raleigh, north carolina with my wife to catch a flight early the next morning out of rdu. Suddenly, a storm rolled in to the area and, since we were going to bed anyway, i placed my zoomh4npro (120 degree setting) on the air conditioning unit below the window. It was recorded at my office in mexico city, i was looking for a kind of similar sound at freesound. Org, and since i did not find anything related, i decided to make my own sound effect and my first upload to your web. I lowered the ipad in my hand under the chair and swayed back and forth three times to achieve the tone i considered efficient. Recorded: august 31, 2019.

This is a sound of vintage soviet transistor organ junost 75. I have sampled one tone per octave in its 5-octave range, which is sufficient to re-create the original sound (tested on ensoniq asr-10, korg tr6 and casio ctk-900). But if you use only the middle sample, you can still simply create a great combo organ sound. This sample has ben recorded while all 4 registers were switched on. For succesful re-creation i recommend to slightly decrease filter cut-off, to add some resonance and fast vibrato. Enjoy!.

Two tone siren that is used by all emergency service vehicles, including police, ambulance and fire department (in 2012) in the netherlands. This is not a recording of an actual siren, but generated by a synthesizer at the exact two frequencies that the siren consists of. For a realistic result it is suggested that you mix this with other background sounds and add your own doppler, echo, panning and other effects to suit your needs.

My friend and i had rented a minimoog model d (c1977, not the reissue). We were jamming out some ambient-type sounds, and my mate is just getting lovely tones out the moog, going through a deluxe memory man echo/chorus/vibrato for extra analogue niceness. I replaced the original tom feet with pearl air suspension feet, which gave a huge improvement in tone, resonance and sustain. I recorded this many years ago on an imac g3 in 2008, the sound was recorded using the imac headphone jack into my desktop pc at the times audio in.
